TORONTO, ON May 3, 2016 – The National Crowdfunding Association of Canada (NCFA Canada) today announced that Beverly Brooks has joined the Association’s Advisory Board as Advisor, Senior Economist.
“Beverly is a highly skilled communicator and has a broad understanding of the financial services ecosystem in Canada from her various roles as economist to investor educator. She’s passionate about the potential impact that crowdfunding and alternative finance markets can have on our economy, and in our local communities, and we welcome her to the advisory board,” said Craig Asano, Founder and Executive Director of NCFA Canada.
Beverly Brooks is the President of Brooks Communications which provides communications strategies to private sector companies and associations. Prior to Brooks Communications, Beverly worked for an international communications agency, a proxy advisory firm, an association representing financial advisors, a national investor education organization and several departments in the federal government. In addition to a background in economics, finance and corporate governance, Beverly has worked with the provincial securities commissions across Canada to provide investor education programs and to update securities legislation and regulations.
"I am delighted to work with the NCFA to help spread the word about the benefits of crowdfunding. We need to provide smaller companies with ways to raise capital at a lower cost and in an efficient way. This approach to financing can help regions and communities improve their economies and create employment” stated Beverly Brooks.
