Richard is President of Rémillard Consulting Group (RCG), an Ottawa-based consulting firm specializing in providing private sector, government and trade association clients with creative, research-grounded solutions to business issues and public policies involving the Canadian financial services industry.
Since its founding in 1996, RCG's clients have included CIBC,BMO,UBS,OSFI, Fonds de Solidarité, FondAction CSN,Kensington Capital,IFIC,FinTrac, Credit Union Central of Canada, Competition Bureau, BDC, Industry Canada, the National Angel Capital Organization and the National Crowdfunding Association of Canada.
Richard has also served as Executive-Director of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association for over a decade, as Vice-President of the Canadian Bankers Association and spent five years as a Special Assistant to the federal Minister of Finance.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Private Capital Markets Association of Canada and the Rideau Club and is an Advisor to Start Up Canada, Venture for Canada and The Funding Portal. Richard is a former member of the Board of Directors of MRS-Trust and of the Sierra Club of Canada Foundation.
Richard has degrees from McGill University, the London School of Economics and Political Science and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. He regularly writes on financial services policy issues for a variety of fora and speaks English and French.
