The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) has established its second Fintech Advisory Forum set to advise BCSC staff on fintech trends and developments, including opportunities and risks, and provide input on fintech issues in the securities industry and securities law issues affecting fintech.

The Forum, which was constituted following a strong response to BC Notice 2023/01 issued on January 17, 2023, comprises 12 members. These members represent a broad cross-section of the fintech industry and its stakeholders, and collectively bring significant experience in the BC capital markets to the table. The members will serve two-year renewable terms.

The advisory members to the BCSC's Fintech Advisory Forum are:

  7. Khris Singh, Advisor, Government Relations and ESG, Canadian Credit Union Association
  8. Mike Stephens, Partner and Member of the Emerging Technology Group and National Lead, Fintech Industry Group, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP

BCSC takes on direct oversight of Canadian Securities Exchange

The Forum is expected to hold its first meeting soon and will continue to schedule additional meetings until June 2025.
