Why It Matters

MicroStrategy’s stock has skyrocketed 570% this year, receiving a strong boost in confidence by its recent inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 index and the growing value of its Bitcoin holdings.  The divide between traditional banking and digital finance continues to narrow while highlighting the growing importance of blockchain technology and its role in the future of finance across the globe including Canada.

Closing Thought

While MicroStrategy is not currently a Bitcoin bank, given its massive Bitcoin holdings, focus on blockchain, and strong technology platform it could evolve into providing services that mimic traditional banking functions using Bitcoin.
