Dan's background includes the development of the Eastern Ontario Development Program while general manager of Northumberland CFDC and president of the Ontario Association of CFDC’s, as well as positions in the Community College system namely with Durham as faculty and George Brown as chair of Hospitality and Tourism. Dan is involved with numerous professional organizations and agencies in various capacities, and we're fortunate to have him share his experience with crowdfunding, from his unique perspective. He devotes a significant amount of time to Habitat for Humanity currently in Haiti.

Abel Renton is not only the CEO at Get Bent Records, but he's also a Professor in Music Business Management program at Durham College. He has direct experience in utilizing crowdfunding campaigns to fund various projects, and often shares his specific knowledge with his students and the community at large.
We are an event business team, called, TEFT, consisting of students at Durham College's Small Business & Entrepreneurship program, and as our major class project we've created The Crowdfunding Fund Me Fair & Speaker Showcase. It is also part of the Do it in Durham Entrepreneurship Week initiative, where, on behalf of Durham College as well, we're providing a focus on Crowdfunding, in an educational, fun and informative setting, with industry experts.
